How to win a Mercury

Could your company be the one that takes away a coveted Mercury?

The main questions on most people’s minds are “What can I possibly enter?” and “How do I enter?”

You will find below step by step guidelines on entering the competition and some tips to help you on the road to being a Mercury winner.

How to win

Have you ever been put off entering the competition because you are a small company, or because your idea costs only a few pence to produce, or because you are located on a different continent? Don’t be deterred – read on.

All you have to do is;

1. Enter the competition

Complete the entry form on the website – only electronic entry forms are accepted.

One form per entry. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

Please support each entry with a photograph, ideally sent as a jpeg attachment to itca@associationservices.co.uk

The Judging Panel will need to know exactly what your entry is. Is it a food product, a software programme, an item of equipment, an onboard service, a skills training initiative? This should be clearly stated and followed by a description of how your entry focuses on Innovation, Quality in Application and Customer Satisfaction.

In order best to be evaluated by the judges it is advisable for entries to have been in commercial use for sufficient time to have resulting facts and figures.

2. Present your idea to the panel of judges

Each successful entrant will be able to occupy a maximum of 20 minutes to present their entry either in Person or by DVD / Web presentation. Entrants should provide any audio-visual material that may be required – ITCA will provide a screen and projector in the judging room. Entrants will be allowed 40 minutes preparation time in the presentation room in advance of the pre-allocated time.

The Judges will be looking for Innovation, Customer Satisfaction, Quality in Application.

The entry is judged on its own merits, not on style and presentation skills.

3. Come to the Mercury Award Presentation

The winners will be announced at the next ITCA Conference.
