The exhibition is not only SOLD OUT it is the biggest ITCA Exhibition there has ever been.

Party Time
As you know there is to be no Banquet this year and the informal Boarding Party with its tremendous networking opportunities has been moved to the Thursday evening. There will be transport from all ITCA Hotels and much food, drink and some entertainment and dancing. - if you wish to attend please book as soon as possible - places are limited.

The Healthy Eating Agenda Claire Nuttall
Claire Nuttall is Partner & Client Director of Dragon the world's leading independent brand agency group. She joined in 1996 and heads up the consumer brands offer. She is a fresh and inspired thinker who loves everything to do with creating and developing successful brand futures. Claire has worked on strategy and innovation projects for many leading blue-chip clients across several different sectors including GlaxoSmithKline, Heinz, Unilever (Lever Faberge) RHM, Diageo, Kraft, Nestlé and Reckitt Benckiser. Claire has particular expertise in the changing Health and healthy eating agenda, and in the definition, tracking and interpretation of societal trends and their impact on brands, consumers and the realisation of new products.
Prior to joining Dragon, Claire worked as a consultant for RSCG Europe in France and at Grey Matter where she was Head of Creative Strategy. In her spare time, apart from having fun with her 3-year old son Fraser, Claire pursues outdoor pursuits of sailing, and the indoor pursuit of stained glass window making.

Damon Stanton, Virgin Atlantic
What Operators Really Want
Damon Stanton Damon Stanton BSc (Hons) MHCIMA MCIPS is Inflight Services Development Manager of Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd.
After graduating in Hospitality and Tourism Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University, Damon joined Airtours International and went on to work as a Cabin Crew Manager and Trainer. In 1996 he joined Alpha Flight Services as a Food Production Manager and twelve months later was made Contracts Manager. Since joining Virgin Atlantic in 1998 he has held various posts in the functions of: catering, purchasing, logistics and aircraft product development. In 2005, Damon was recruited as: Catering Manager, responsible for: catering: development, operations and quality. He has, since, operated as: Inflight Services Development Manager and is responsible for: in-flight food and drink, product and equipment and Clubhouse catering.

ITCA's Conference in Cologne is introducing a new concept which will be open to all conference delegates -

An Interactive Taste Challenge

There will be two sessions and two different product areas being scrutinised and introduced by experts in their field and as delegates you will be able to taste and be quizzed on your own opinions following an informative and detailed presentation.

Benefits to attendees:
  • Opportunity to update your knowledge in the greatest of detail on the particular food group chosen (see below).
  • Will give the opportunity for Operators, Caterers and Suppliers alike to sit with their peer groups and network in a fun and informative environment.
  • Each attendee will be asked to complete a question paper at the end of each challenge (these will not be published).
  • The person with the highest score will be awarded a prize.
  • It will enhance the ITCA experience.
  • It will bring back the focus on Food, in line with this year's conference theme – "Meeting Expectations".

Sandra Pineau, IFSA President
IFSA Update
Sandra Pineau
Sandra Pineau, IFSA President is staff vice president, food services division at Continental Airlines. In her position, she is responsible for all aspects of the catering requirements for the carrier.
During her 17 years at Continental, she has held various positions in the food services division including operations, planning and financial controls. Sandra has a master's degree in finance from Long Beach State and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Texas State University. In 2005, she received an honorary doctorate of food service from NAFEM, North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers, for exemplary service to the food service industry.

Khalid Al Duwaisan
Khalid Al Duwaisan is Managing Director of Kuwait Aviation Services Company and is also currently President of ITCA.
Khalid has also been with Kuwait Airways Corporation joining them in 1974 and becoming Director of passenger services, Dty Director General of Kuwait Airways – Aviation Services and head of services development for the airline throughout its network. Khalid is also Chairman of KASCO Al Bateel in Doha and Chairman of Kuwait Tourism Services Company.

Update from the ITCA Professor
Peter Jones
Professor Peter Jones is the ITCA Professor of Production and Operations Management, and Director of the Travel Catering Research Centre at the University of Surrey. He is the author or editor of nine textbooks and over 100 articles, and has presented at conferences in thirteen countries on five continents. He is currently researching all sectors of the travel catering industry in order to publish a new edition of the ITCA-sponsored textbook Flight Catering (to be re-titled Travel Catering) and undertaking a major project designed to identify the major trends affecting the industry. He has a doctorate from the University of Surrey and a MBA from London Business School.
