Boarding Party
A real party which includes wonderful selections of food and drink together with a casual atmosphere in which to network, be entertained or simply dance the night away in a building with inbuilt atmosphere. Buses will take you to and from your hotels and you can get home as early as 11.00 or as late as 12.30 am.

The Boarding Party again this year will be casual with a variety of food and drink including a special “cocktail bar”. ITCA is also providing entertainment with a very special act not to be missed along with some special entertainment and of course the opportunity to dance the night away. All of this and some special features and of course the opportunity to network with your fellow delegate.

ITCA President's Update

David YoungDavid Young is currently the President of the International Travel Catering Association (ITCA).

In January 2008 David joined Journey Group as Managing Director of the Watermark Products Division based in London. Prior to joining Watermark David held senior Inflight Positions with Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand and the Ansett Australia Group in Australia and New Zealand

David commenced his working career in Chartered Accounting working with Ernst & Young in their Sydney and London offices specializing in services to the Leisure and Entertainment industries.

David holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance and Information Systems , Post Graduate qualifications in Tourism Operations and Hospitality Management and a Masters in Commercial Law . He is a member of the Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia

Will Whitehorn
Virgin Galactic

Will WhitehornWill Whitehorn was born in Edinburgh and a Graduate of Aberdeen University. Will worked for British Airways Helicopters in the north sea before heading south to become a Graduate Trainee with Thomas Cook.

In 1987 Will joined the Virgin Group as Group Public Relations Manager. Over the next several years he was responsible for presenting Virgin's joint venture strategy and spent several months working in Japan and began to move into a more general management role. Will worked on the strategy to expand the brand into new areas such as financial services and telecoms. From 1997 onwards, Will became part of a team developing the Virgin branded venture capital model for global expansion. In 2000, he was appointed Brand Development and Corporate Affairs Director for Virgin. In 2004 he became President of Virgin Galactic. In 2007 he took on that role in an executive capacity and became a special advisor to Sir Richard Branson.

In addition to his Virgin involvement, Will was appointed as non-executive Chairman of Next Fifteen Communications Group plc, the global technology PR consultancy, in January 2004. In 2007 he was also invited to join the advisory board of the BNSC (British National Space Centre).

Graham Inglis
CEO DHL Supply chain, UK and Ireland and EEMEA

Graham InglisGraham Inglis is currently Chief Executive Officer , DHL Supply Chain UK and Ireland and EEMEA. Graham joined DHL in 1995 as Key Account Director soon becoming Managing Director, Europe for the newly formed Health and Utilities unit in Exel. Graham has held a number of key positions including CEO Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa, CEO, Sector development responsible for all EMEA development activity, President, Healthcare Worldwide and Commercial Director for a range of functions with Exel.

Graham has various qualifications including an MSc degree in Logistics and Distribution from Cornfield University.

DavidDavid Bryon is the former Managing Director of bmibaby, one of the UK's largest low cost airlines. David now combines his successful speaking career with other media commitments. These include hosting cable TV shows, writing articles, and appearing as a regular guest on various national programmes. In 2000 David took up a position with the airline bmi, and was part of the senior management team that set-up the low cost carrier bmibaby in 2002. He was Commercial Director for 18 months before being appointed Managing Director.

David has an excellent reputation as a speaker and host, he is highly amusing and a highly experienced event professional. He talks in great detail about the recent explosion of low cost carriers in Europe and the future of the aviation industry as well as the opportunities to be gained from strategic marketing and the selling power of the internet.

Wolfgang Süess and Daniel Percy
Airbus
The New Galley Concept

Wolfgang SuessWolfgang Süess first joined Airbus Operations in 2001 for his study of Information Technologies and he later graduated in 2004 as a Bachelor of Science. In his first years at Airbus he took over the technical leadership of a project to develop an electromechanical window shade. This is now flying on the Qantas A380. He was also involved in other side projects related to cabin equipment. At the end of 2007, Wolfgang joined the Cabin Innovation department and focused on future cabin products and strategies. In this role he is also supporting the SPICE team with the mission to identify how the new galley concept will impact the catering chain around an aircraft galley. Wolfgang is proud of being part of a team trying to revolutionize the aircraft galley first time in 40 years. A topic rather relevant to ITCA and its members.

Daniel PercyDaniel Percy is a Marketing Manager with Airbus' Interiors Marketing team, and is currently responsible for the market-entry strategy of the SPICE Galley concept. Daniel has had a varied career, having trained as an engineer before teaching English in Japan. Upon return to his native U.K., Daniel took up a post in Research & Development at QinetiQ before moving to Airbus in 2002, to work in various customer focussed activities.

Daniel lives in Toulouse with his wife and young twins. He is a keen cook of all styles of cuisine, especially Indian, and enjoys entertaining friends at his flat overlooking the city. Daniel is a keen reader of fiction, enjoys jogging for fitness and snowboarding and scuba-diving for adventure.

Professor Peter Jones
Report from the ITCA Professor

Peter JonesProfessor Peter Jones is the ITCA Professor of Production and Operations Management, and Director of the Travel Catering Research Centre at the University of Surrey. He is the author or editor of nine textbooks and over 100 articles, and has presented at conferences in thirteen countries on five continents. He is currently researching all sectors of the travel catering industry in order to publish a new edition of the ITCA-sponsored textbook Flight Catering (to be re-titled Travel Catering) and undertaking a major project designed to identify the major trends affecting the industry. He has a doctorate from the University of Surrey and a MBA from London Business School.
