Training in operational logistics
In 2001 ITCA introduced the first-ever Inflight-specific Logistics Training Course, aimed at middle management and supervisory levels.
About the courses
The course was developed by passenger transport operators, caterers and suppliers realising the impact that good logistics and supply chain management can have on their financial results and customer satisfaction - seamless onboard product at optimum cost.
Who should attend?
Typical participants are engaged, at junior and middle management level, in the operational and supervisory aspects of the sourcing and supply of onboard product inventory, material planning and control, storage and distribution management.
Course objective
To develop delegates' logistics and supply chain management knowledge and skills, majoring on:
- operational control throughout the supply chain
- cost reduction
- communication and teamwork between the key players, namely the passenger transport operators, caterers/service providers and suppliers
Course Content
The course content is split 1/3rd theory and 2/3rds practical. The latter includes solo presentations, discussion groups and syndicate workshops. The practical course material is based on real and up to date scenarios. Actual course content is flexible to best meet delegate needs and background. The course is a two day event and the venues regionally based to minimise delegate travel and accommodation costs.
