HACCP Training Courses

About the HACCP Training Courses

Many members and delegates have attended the successful ITCA HACCP Workshops held throughout the world in the last few years.

LATEST UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2007
Big changes ahead for ITCA vocational training

ITCA has used the excellent services of the Royal Institute of Public Health for Vocational Training over the last 14 months but ITCA Education Consultant Colin Banks is ever-conscious of the need to upgrade and improve the levels of training that ITCA provides to its membership.

As a benchmark, delegates attending the Dubai conference and the HACCP workshop 11th-13th December 2007 and the London course scheduled for 17th-18th January 2008 will be studying and taking the examination for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level Two Award in Food Safety in Catering.

Colin is anxious that we should be preparing members for further CIEH vocationally related qualifications and accreditation such as the CIEH Level 3 Awards in Supervising Food Safety and the CIEH Level 4 Awards in Food Safety (Diploma) All these qualifications are developed to nationally recognised training standards as identified by the sector skills councils on behalf of the industry.

We see the membership being in a position, where training skills have been introduced, to set up their own registered CIEH centres.

It is costly to send candidates to Europe for training and Colin hopes that sometime in the near future we will have sufficient tutors and centres around the world to carry out skilled training in local languages. He is convinced that ITCA is leading the industry in offering such qualifications: food safety management training is a business investment.

Johnson Diversey has worked very closely with the ITCA education team and has already set up CIEH training centres in the Middle East, India and Hong Kong. We welcome their involvement in the Dubai training course.

PREVIOUS UPDATES

ITCA is now presenting a NEW format.

Colin Banks the ITCA Tutor and Coordinator is anxious to ensure that training content and information is maintained at a high level and in line with changes in world wide food safety legislation and guidelines.

"I am determined that we offer delegates from the International Travel Catering Industry the opportunity to learn more about the implications of food poisoning and food contamination and most importantly the behaviour of many of the new organisms that have come to the fore front in food safety. Working with the Royal Institute of Public Health we will be able to offer delegates the opportunity to obtain the RIPH Level Two Award in Food Safety. The RIPH brand is well established and qualifications are a recognised benchmark of quality by employers internationally".

Course has been updated to include the Royal Institute of Public Health- -Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering Examination which is a new concept but will give participating delegates a recognised Food Safety & Environmental Hygiene qualification when successfully completing examination.

Delegates require to have a reasonable understanding of the written/spoken English and will be required to attend all sessions of training. Delegates must ensure travel arrangements do not prevent them from completing training.

Delegates will be provided with textbooks for subjects covering the syllabus of training for the Royal Institute of Public Health Qualification

Examination costs will be included in delegates' fees.

ITCA can also provide other HACCP and Food Safety Training Courses for those with specific or special needs. Enquiries to the ITCA office.
